Another train day today. Took about an hour to get to Passau.

Passau is right on the Germany/Austria border. It is famous for being the place where two other rivers flow into the Danube - the Inn and the Ilz. All three rivers have their own distinct colour. And as I type this now and check out the map, I realise that we will meet the Inn again later on in our travels.

We checked in to our Hotel - B+B and then got the bus into Passau. Had a look around, had dinner, bought a few supplies (luckily for us - check out tomorrow!) from the supermarket, then back to the hotel.

So, a quick aside on supermarkets! I always find it very interesting to shop in supermarkets around Europe. Foods, beers and wines that we would consider exotic in NZ are everyday items and cheap in Europe. It took a lot of will power to avoind buying too many 'bargain' wines and beers!
