Today was the start of our trip along the Vennbahn - an old railway line, converted to a dedicated cycle/walkway - which runs along the border of Belgium and Germany, from Aachen, Germany to Troivierges, Luxembourg.

It is a very easy, smooth, asphalted (mostly), green corridor. Easy cycling. We reached Monschau about 1:30pm.

Our accommodation, Gastehaus Luise, was a homely little guest house, just a few steps up from the town square.

When we first arrived we found a cafĂ© table in then square and ordered up beers and food. Then the oompah band arrived!  Even though we were now in Germany, the band were from Belgium.

Nice, relaxing couple of hours.

After checking into our accommodation we went for a walk around the town. Lots of cobble-stoned streets and half-timbered houses.

One of our favourite little towns in the whole trip.
