Stuttgart is on the Neckar river and so was our next destination – Tubingen. The Neckar actually flows into the Rhine, somewhere between Frankfurt and Stuttgart. It would have been nice to ride all the way from the Rhine to Stuttgart and then on to Tubingen, but we had to make do with the Stuttgart to Tubingen stretch only. After a few false turns, we were finally heading along the river, past the huge Mercedes factory.

Very nice riding, although our predicted 55km ended up becoming 70km.

Tubingen is the home of The Cat's son Jeremy, daughter-in-law Hannah, and grand-daughter, Amelie (or Millie). We navigated our way to Jeremy, Hannah and Millie’s place in a nice suburb of Tubingen. Nobody home when we turned up, but I managed to get hold of Jeremy on the phone and he arrived in 10 minutes. They had a very comfortable upstairs apartment with a spare bedroom for us.

Later we had a walk around town, before a home cooked meal and beers back at their place.
